[REVIEW] ‘The Boy Most Likely To’ by: Huntley Fitzpatrick

*This is a companion novel to ‘My Life Next Door’–I would strongly recommend reading that one first, as this review contains spoilers for MLND!

Synopsis:

Alice Garrett is still reeling from her father’s accident, and all of the responsibilities that came crashing down on her when he got hit by a car. She’s trying to take care of all of her siblings, and definitely has no time to fall in love with her brother Jase’s best friend, Tim. Tim Mason is a recovering alcoholic who is just starting to get back on his feet. As Alice and Tim grow closer, a mistake from his past shows up, changing Tim’s life completely, and threatening to tear him and Alice apart.

Rating: 4.5/5 stars

Review:

This book is told in two P.O.V.’s–Alice and Tim’s. While I tend to prefer just one P.O.V., it really worked with this book. Tim and Alice were more equally main characters than Samantha and Jase were, because we just got all of Sam’s views and none of Jase’s. It was awesome getting to see more of Sam and Jase, and the rest of the other characters from ‘My Life Next Door’. It was great getting to see more of the Tim that we started to see towards the end of the first book. Tim and Alice are very deep and complex characters, and their stories are portrayed remarkably. This book is definitely a must read for anyone who has read ‘My Life Next Door’, and anyone who loves YA contemporaries.
